Building bridges

The American School in Shanghai, China, a K-12 private school, expanded its facilities.  The 189,000 square foot expansion includes a three-story cast-in-place concrete high school gymnasium. The gymnasium roof structure is a unique longspan steel truss system.  The façade is a combination of veneer stone and stucco on concrete masonry backup and a glass curtain wall encloses the gymnasium, making the interior visible and establishing a focal point of the school.
