Philadelphia Family Court,
New home for family court
The new 700,000 square foot Family Court building for the City of Philadelphia combines the Domestic Relations and Juvenile divisions of the family court into one building. The courthouse stands sixteen stories of structural steel frame above ground clad in a glass curtain wall. The 16 above grade floors feature court offices, courtrooms and support facilities, with separate vertical and horizontal circulation paths for the public, judges and courts staff, and prisoners. The building also provides three levels of below-grade, post-tensioned, cast-in-place concrete parking for 260 cars, including a 37-car secure parking area for judges and other key court staff at the lowest level.
The courthouse was designed to achieve USGBC LEED Silver certification.View the Gallery Print PDF
