New Jersey State House Parking Garage,
Trenton, NJ

Low profile parking

This partial underground enclosed parking garage provides 1,100 parking spaces on three levels for the adjacent New Jersey State House Complex. The garage is recessed into the existing sloping site. The design includes a heavily landscaped plaza roof including lawn, trees, pavilions and walkway paths. The pavilions contain the mechanical ventilation system for the parking garage contained below. In addition to the parking areas, a substantial loading dock is included that provides service access to the various state buildings. This project demonstrates that parking can be provided in close proximity to architecturally sensitive buildings.
