Larimer Transportation Center Parking Garage, Pittsburgh, PA
Parking with Premier Pedestrian Passage
This nine level, open, long span, precast parking garage with 1,029 spaces, provides parking for the adjacent Bakery Square mixed use campus. The garage was added along with a new nine story, 300,000 sf office building.
The functional design of the garage consists of a double threaded helix with one-way drive aisles and angled parking stalls. An elevated pedestrian bridge connects the parking garage with the other adjacent Bakery Square garage with its connections to the hotel and office buildings on site. The glass backed elevators and glazed pedestrian bridge offer visibility to the street for passive security. The garage was designed to accommodate a future bus transit stop at the back of the garage along one of Pittsburgh’s public transit dedicated busways.
The Harman Group, now IMEG provided parking consulting and structural engineering for the parking garage.View the Gallery Print PDF
