Bicentennial Parking Garage,
West Chester, PA
Solving a parking problem
This six-level, cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete parking garage provides the downtown area with 375 parking spaces. The ground floor contains four retail spaces that help preserve the character of the street. The design is contextual, taking cues from the adjacent historic urban fabric. The garage design incorporates similar materials, scale, rhythm and proportions of the neighboring building façades. The garage façade is designed to appear as five distinct buildings with the brick colors, brick patterns, lintels, window dimensions, frame colors and cornice designs varying. The corner elevator and stair tower is capped with a mansard roof.
