Temple University’s new Aramark Student Health and Recreation Complex is an academic, athletics and recreation facility that will provide enhanced space for students in the College of Public Health to hone their clinical skills as well as a new recreational center with space for students with exercise and practice facilities.
The single-story, 87,000 sf indoor recreational facility features a 70-yard synthetic turf football practice field, a recreational track surface, weight training/exercise space and support spaces. The building will also include enhanced space for the College of Public Health, including clinical teaching labs, lecture halls, smart classrooms and an apartment fitted to ADA standards for student training in occupational and physical therapy.
The building is designed with a dramatic two and a half story glass atrium at the entrance located at 15th Street and Montgomery Avenue. Pedestrians may enter the facility beneath a portion of the outdoor track, which serves as a balcony above the main doors before returning to ground level around the perimeter of the building. The lobby also features an indoor climbing wall, lounge area, and a Jamba Juice bar.
