Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center Breaks Ground at Lafayette College

On May 11, The Harman Group celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center at Lafayette College.

The 100,000-square foot, $64 million project is the largest capital project in the school’s history. Designed by Payette architects, the new sciences center will house the biology, computer science, environmental science, and neuroscience departments at the university. The project’s driving force is to promote the integration of different sciences in order to foster innovation.

The building will also feature the IDEAL Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Hanson Center for Inclusive STEM Education. The Harman Group is the structural engineer on this project.

This is the third project The Harman Group has designed at Lafayette College. The Harman Group also provided structural engineering services for the recently completed William C. Buck Hall, a film and media studies building, which houses a screening room and stadium seating for 184 occupants, 200-seat black box theater, media room and scene shop. Additionally, The Harman Group served as structural engineer on Keefe Hall a five-story 37,000-square foot student residence building.

Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center is slated to open in the fall of 2019.
