Chris Gottschall, senior project manager at The Harman Group, penned an article for Modern Steel Construction’s July 2018 issue about Phase II of Philadelphia’s acclaimed East Market development.
Philadelphia’s strong real estate market dictated that the Phase II tower would proceed ahead of schedule. The 22-story, 240-unit tower rises 270 ft. above the corner of 12th and Market Streets. The steel framing scheme allowed the tower to be erected in only 100 working days, just one year after Phase I topped out.

The Phase II tower at East Market is currently the tallest all-steel building in Philadelphia since the introduction of the International Building Code. The Harman Group served as the Philadelphia structural engineer and connection designer for the project.
