Jefferson’s Specialty Care Pavilion Tops Out at 19th Floor

The Harman Group (THG) is proud to announce the topping out of Jefferson’s Specialty Care Pavilion, located at 1101 Chestnut Street in Center City, Philadelphia. The 19-story, 462,000 square-foot, steel-framed healthcare facility will include 300 exam rooms, 10 operating rooms, six endoscopy rooms, ambulatory surgery, imaging, cancer treatment facilities and three levels of underground parking.

The Harman Group provided structural engineering, connection design and parking consultancy services for the project in partnership with developer National Real Estate Advisors, architects BLT Architects, Ennead Architects LLP and Stantec, mechanical/electrical engineering Jaros, Baum & Bolles, construction managers LF Driscoll and Hunter Roberts Construction, concrete subcontractor Madison Concrete Works, steel fabricator Cives Steel Company, steel erector E&R Erectors, façade consultant Heintges Consulting Architects & Engineers.

The structural system used on the project consists of a steel frame with composite slab on metal deck above grade and filigree concrete for the three level underground garage.

The $762 million healthcare facility is the final piece of the East Market development and marks the largest real estate investment by Jefferson Health. The project is slated to be completed in 1st Quarter 2024.
