Building Information Modeling

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a 3D model-based process that allows The Harman Group, now IMEG engineers, in conjunction with the architects and other project consultants, to generate a 3D representation of physical and functional characteristics of projects. This model serves as a way for our clients to visualize their investment before the project has broken ground. BIM promotes enhanced communications between, architectural, structural and MEP consultants, providing all parties with the ability to see and coordinate the design before building begins.

Why and How it Works

BIM has proven to be helpful in resolving construction and design conflicts before the project is in the construction phase, translating into cost savings for clients. Depending on the client’s needs, the type of project, and the other project consultants, we have the ability to utilize numerous programs to create the models.  The Harman Group, now IMEG uses various software packages such as Autodesk Revit, which can model every type of construction project, to more specialized software such as Tekla Structures, which is specifically applicable for structural steel projects.
