Favorite Project: The Cambria Hotel at Broad and Locust
Lea Cosenza is a director at The Harman Group, now IMEG and is responsible for the management of ongoing New Jersey projects as well as the development of new clients in the New Jersey area. She brings 14 years of experience as a structural engineer to The Harman Group, now IMEG. Lea guides the structural design process and is responsible for coordinating the design disciplines and project goals. She enjoys working with clients to come up with creative solutions to achieve intricate architectural features.
Lea’s expertise includes structural engineering for new buildings, expansions and historic renovations. She has a wide range of knowledge of existing structures and has a strong attention to detail. Her portfolio has encompassed a variety of projects, including: a new mixed-use building including student housing and a university center for Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ; the renovation and vertical expansion of Philadelphia’s former Marketplace Design Center to create a new headquarters for Aramark Corporation; hospitality projects including a Cambria Hotel & Suites and a Hyatt Centric Hotel in Philadelphia; and residential developments such as Arthaus and 619 North Broad Street in Philadelphia.
She earned Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from Villanova University, and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Maryland. Lea has authored articles for such publications as Modern Steel Construction, Structure and ENR Magazines.
