A Vice President and Principal at The Harman Group with 39 years of experience, Janis Vacca serves as Principal-in-Charge of one of the firm’s two structural engineering teams. Her leadership guides the structural design process, with a focus on executing projects that adhere to the architect’s vision. She has a broad range of expertise in a variety of building types, ranging from large-scale mixed-use projects to classroom and student residence buildings that complement the University’s vision for the campus.

In her 26 years at The Harman Group, Jan’s portfolio of projects includes hospitality projects such as Revel Resort and Casino and The Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, NJ; student residences including Drexel University’s Millennium Hall and Race Street student residence and the University of Pennsylvania’s Radian Apartments; a multi-phased expansion project for a children’s hospital in Philadelphia; and mixed-use developments such as Hudson Lights in Fort Lee, NJ, and Rodin Square, East Market and 3601 Market Street in Philadelphia.

She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Concrete Institute and the Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers. Jan graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of New Jersey, New York, Delaware and Maryland, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
